Ragamuffins Restaurant And Bar Barbados

While researching a trip to Barbados, I came across a little bar and restaurant online. The website is clever to point out that you’ll have to eat at least once or twice while on vacation in Barbados. They are right. They also go on to say that why bother eating at any other restaurant in Barbados when You Can eat there – they make a good point. The restaurant is just wonderful.

The building is fashioned after the famed Barbadian chattel house, Ragamuffins Bar & Restaurant in Holetown, is one of the area’s most lively dinner and night clubs. You jovial hosts, Neil and Nuru, guarantee a memorable evening at the west coast’s only authentic chattel house restaurant and bar. The international menu offers an excellent seafood selection along with its very popular steaks. A wide cocktail selection is all you need to keep the fun going: a good meal, good drinks, good people. What a combination! The “catch of the day” is literally the “catch” of the day. Whatever is out there swimming around and is brought back home goes on your plate. The menu is forever changing and evolving based on the needs and suggestions of the locals and tourists and the cooks are happy to accommodate.

Did you know they have a drag show? Well now you do! Every Sunday night the ladies take the stage and put on a show you won’t soon forget. The restaurant recommends you book your seat in advance for this fantastic show because they fill up fast. The Mannequins in Motion are practically celebrities in the area. Everyone knows and loves their act – for the most part – they do encounter trouble from time to time. These real life drag queens don’t let the resistance get them down. And real is the word that best describes their rich performances. Besides their good looks and fit bodies, their larger than life stage presence makes you gasp. Bianca is the shortest at a natural height of 5 foot 11 inches, Holly follows second at an even 6 foot and Diva stands 6 foot 4 inches tall. And by the time they are in their full costumes accentuated with six inch heeled shoes and teased tresses, they dominate the stage and tower over the tallest male in any audience.

Though they perform songs from a variety of female musicians, these divas can sing and dance like no other. This is not some girly karaoke mime with nice dresses and pretty faces. Once the lights are dimmed and they take to the stage, you are transformed into a different world of magic and illusion. Between an average of eight complete costume changes per individual, Bianca interacts with the audience and this is where they completely separate themselves from any other professional girl group. The dialogue is original, witty, intelligent and direct. Looking around the room, it is hard to imagine the quality of performance directly in front of you, that is, until one of them is in your face and challenges you to step-up to the stage.

The staff and owners share a similar sense of humour that is both uplifting and entertaining. They have an original style and you can clearly see where the atmosphere and rapport comes from within the bar and restaurant.

Ragamuffin’s is one place you won’t want to overlook while on your travels to Barbados. You won’t regret picking up the phone to book your seat – and they’ll tell you that.

Its casual, laid-back atmosphere ensures a fun-filled evening. This restaurant has been featured in a number of top international publications and is very popular with locals.

City of Sisterly and Brotherly Loves: Lesbian and Gay Philadelphia, 1945-1972

City of Sisterly and Brotherly Loves: Lesbian and Gay Philadelphia, 1945-1972

$16.14

In this pathbreaking history, Marc Stein takes an in-depth look at Philadelphia from the 1940s to the 1970s. What he finds is a city of vibrant gay and lesbian households, neighborhoods, commercial establishments, public cultures, and political groups. In doing so, Stein shatters the myth that lesbian and gay history began with the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City and challenges the notion that only New York and San Francisco featured major lesbian and gay communities in the pre-Stonewall era.Stein takes us on a tour through Philadelphia’s bars, restaurants, bookstores, bathhouses, movie theaters, parks, and parades where lesbian and gay cultures thrived. We learn about the scientific experts, religious leaders, public officials, and journalists who attacked and ignored same-sex sexualities. And we read about the courageous people who fought back with strategies of everyday resistance and organized political activism.Stein argues against the idea that a conspiracy of silence surrounded gays and lesbians in the 1940s and 1950s. He shows that same-sex sexualities were regularly discussed in controversies concerning the tennis player Big Bill Tilden, the Walt Whitman Bridge, sex murders and crimes, and police raids. Philadelphians became national leaders in the gay and lesbian movement. They conducted sit-ins at Dewey’s restaurant, organized pickets at Independence Hall, edited the movement’s most widely circulated publications the Ladder and Drum, and pursued court cases all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.Beautifully crafted and exceptionally well-written, Stein’s book not only provides a new starting place for thinking about lesbian and gay history but also challenges readers to rethink twentieth-century urban history.

Chapters: Detachable Penis, Martin Scorsese, Love Is…, Jesus Was Way Cool, No Point, My Heart Is a Flower, America Kicks Ass, (Why Are We) Trapped?, Take Stuff From Work, the Box. Excerpt: “Detachable Penis” is a song by avant-garde band King Missile. It was the first single from the band’s 1992 album Happy Hour, and became a modest hit, reaching #25 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. In “Detachable Penis,” frontman John S. Hall recites a deadpan monologue in which he portrays the owner of the eponymous organ. Apparently a resident of Manhattan’s East Village, the narrator awakens one morning with a bad hangover to discover that his penis is missing again. He searches his apartment, calls the location of the party he attended the night before, and queries numerous acquaintances, but is unable to recover his penis. Depressed, he goes to the Kiev Restaurant for breakfast, and afterwards, while walking “down Second Avenue, toward St. Mark’s Place,” discovers his penis for sale “on a blanket next to a broken toaster oven.” The man selling the penis wants $22 for it, but the narrator is able to “talk him down to seventeen.” He takes his penis home, washes it off, and reattaches it. With his penis back in place, he is “happy again: complete.” The music of “Detachable Penis” consists largely of a distorted, delay-treated electric guitar riff backed by organ and drum grooves with brief lead guitar improvisation. For most of the track, the titular phrase is sung with an interval of approximately four seconds, or more accurately two 4/4 bars, the length of the guitar riff. The riff provides a harmonic ground of C#min – G Maj – Amaj, which remains unchanged throughout the song. The video for “Detachable Penis” was directed by Richard Kern at the sugges… More:

 Love For Sale (Song)

Love For Sale (Song)

$60.91

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Love for Sale is a song by Cole Porter, from the musical The New Yorkers which opened on Broadway on December 8, 1930 and closed in May 1931 after 168 performances. The song is written from the viewpoint of a prostitute advertising various kinds of “love for sale”: “Old love, new love, every love but true love”. The song’s chorus, like many in the Great American Songbook, is written in the A-A-B-A format. However, instead of 32 bars, it’s 64, plus an 8-bar tag. The tag is often dropped when the song is performed. The tune, using what is practically a trademark for Porter, shifts between a major and minor feeling. “Love for Sale” was originally considered in bad taste, even scandalous. In the initial Broadway production, it was performed by Kathryn Crawford, portraying a streetwalker, with three girlfriends as back-up singers, in front of Reuben’s, a popular restaurant of the time. As a response to the criticism, the song was transferred from the white Crawford to the African American singer Elisabeth Welch, who sang with back-up singers in a scene set in front of Harlem’s Cotton Club.

Occurrence of bacteria in dishcloths used in restaurants and survival of respiratory viruses on produce.

$108

The first study was designed to determine the occurrence of bacteria in dishcloths used in restaurants and bars. Coliforms were isolated from 89% of dishcloths and 70% of tabletops. Escherichia coli was isolated from 54% of dishcloths and 20% of tabletops. The numbers of heterotrophic bacteria (HPC) and coliforms were higher in bars than in restaurants. The levels of HPC found in dishcloths were 25-fold and coliforms were 60-to 120-fold lower than the levels found in dishcloths in previous home studies. The most commonly isolated genera from dishcloths in restaurants and bars differed from those in homes. The numbers of HPC on restaurant tabletops were 45-fold greater after cleaning than prior to cleaning. The mandatory use of sanitizers in restaurants and bars may therefore have reduced contamination levels and caused a shift in the microbial populations present in food service establishments.;The second study was designed to determine the recovery efficiency and the survival of two respiratory viruses on produce and was compared to the survival of the enteric poliovirus 1. Adenovirus was recovered with an efficiency of 56%, 32% and 35% from lettuce, strawberries and raspberries, respectively. Coronavirus was recovered from lettuce with an efficiency of 19.6%, but could not be recovered from strawberries. Poliovirus was recovered from lettuce with an efficiency of 76.6% and 0.06% from strawberries. The survival of the viruses was observed for up to eight days. Adenovirus survived the longest on raspberries, with a log10 reduction of 0.61, followed by 1.68- and 1.75-log10 reductions on strawberries and lettuce, respectively. Coronavirus declined by 0.41-log10 after two days and >1.34 log10 by day 4 on lettuce. The enteric poliovirus 1 survived longer on produce, decreasing by only 0.37-log10 on lettuce and 1.30-log10 on strawberries.;A microbial risk assessment was performed to assess the risk of infection from ingesting 1, 10, and 100 particles of adenovirus on

The station is the main passenger station for the city of Gdask, as it is localised in the centre of the city. Access is easy due to a large number of communication routes intersecting near the station building (both trams and buses). The station operates five platforms, of which two are in fact SKM stops. The remaining three operate Przewozy Regionalne and PKP Intercity trains. Access to platforms is made available via subterranean passages, both from the east and west sides of the city. At the east side the passage ends on the other side of Podwale Grodzkie street, and on the west it goes directly into a PKS (long-distance bus) station. The passages enable access to the station building and tram stops; inside them, many facilities are located, including but not limited to: shops, fast food bars and press outlets. One can also find individual vendors selling their products directly from their hands. The station building hails from the end of the 19th century. Nowadays there is a small shopping centre on the patio, a McDonald’s restaurant and a few other fast food (like KFC) outlets inside the building. Ticket offices are open all day, and the station sells international traffic tickets. Before the outbreak of World War II Gdask Gówny station was named Danzig Hbf. This book is destined for vegetarians, vegans, and people who want to stay healthy by eating better foods obtained in compliance with the laws of nature. Although Paris is not yet a vegetarian haven like London or New York, vegetarianism is now booming here, as well as the use of organic foods in traditional restaurants. This is very good news ! Vegetarian Paris has now become Vegetarian and Organic Paris to include traditional French restaurants using organic products and being vegetarian-friendly. This year, I have added a “Read Me First” section in the book. Here, I have grouped information about what continues to be hard to find in Paris, including where to find wheatgrass juice, have an organic breakfast, eat without gluten, eat organic crepes, have organic Italian meals, have meals with many sprouted seeds, buy organic products with your Amex card, etc. In addition, the section includes a useful list of the restaurants that no longer exist but continue to be mentioned on many websites. In the first chapter, “Restaurants”, you will find addresses, telephone numbers, business hours and closest metro stations of Parisian restaurants. Also included are brief examples of meals proposed and price, the percentage of organically grown products used in the preparation of meals, the kind of restaurant (vegetarian, vegan, macrobiotic, vegetarian-friendly) and website addresses, when available.
